Josh McRae's career started at Carsten's Beauty School in Tempe, Arizona. From there he joined Mane Attraction salon in Phoenix, where Kendal Ong mentored him in the precision cutting techniques of Vidal Sassoon.
After he finished the salon's hair program, Josh was promoted to head cutting instructor and trained the next wave of stylists. He also took part in salon makeovers for Channel 12 News, bringing his work to viewers across the Valley.
With a strong foundation in Vidal cutting fundamentals, Josh spent 2007 in New York training in advanced cutting and salon business management at the Bumble and Bumble academy. In 2008 he opened his own salon, Salon Joshua, in the East Valley.
Salon Joshua became a Bumble and Bumble network salon and was voted a top salon in Arizona on Citysearch. Josh keeps his skills ahead of the trends, and he returned to New York to master razor cutting at Nick Arrojo's studio. Few stylists offer that specialty. Every client who sits in his chair gets that same level of training and attention to detail.
Away from the salon, Josh is a proud dad to Hadli, Xander, Teagan and Sami. Whether he's cheering from the sidelines or spending time at home with his kids, family is what keeps him grounded and inspired behind the chair.
